The Hexoskin Medical System (HMS) is a wearable medical device that collects cardiac, respiratory, and physiological activity data using a Medical Shirt and Recorder.
The Medical Shirt contains two (2) respiration bands that collect respiratory data, and four (4) cardiac sensors that collect heart data.
The Shirt needs to be worn directly on the skin under any type of undergarment and needs to have a snug fit to collect accurate health data.
Objective
How to measure your participant and choose the best size?
Procedure
- Use a standard tailor's tape to perform measurements (inches or cm)
- Take all measurements as closely to the body as possible (against the body with tight-fitting clothing, no thick shirts)
- Ask the participant to maintain usual standing posture, arms along body
- Ask the participant to lift their arms, pass the tape around their chest
- Ask the participant to lower arms along the body and breathe normally
- Take circumference measures from the side of the body to ensure the tape is parallel to the floor
- Place tape below breasts (for women) and pectoral muscles (for men)
- Record thoracic measurement
- Ask the participant to point to their belly button
- Place tape at belly button level
- Record abdominal measurement
- For women, add chest measurement at fullest part of chest
- Refer to the size guide below to choose the best size
- If the measurement is between two (2) sizes, choose the smaller size as the Shirt can stretch up to 2 extra inches
